| Isabelle age 4 passed away September 2006 |
|
|
Isabelle was my 4 pound baby girl Chihuahua. It is with heart felt sorrow I write this
today. It has taken 2 months for me to put this together as the sadness cut so deep I found it hard to breath at times.
My baby Isabelle was 4 years old and the love of my life. She has been all over the United States taking vacations and
business trips. She was kind and loved everyone. Isabelle was my personal pet and welcomed all rescues she saw
enter our home. Two months ago Isabelle crawled under the fence where a dog aggressive rescue dog was exercising in
the September sun. With horror and disbelief I screamed and reached for her, the large dog tossed her like a chew
toy. It was as if it happened in slow motion and I have replayed the scene over and over in my mind. I was only
a second away from reaching out to my baby and when the large dog released her she looked up at me in horror and shock and
pain. I saw the look on her sweet face that I had kissed a million times. She was rushed to the vet and on to
Akron where they have a speciality orthopedic hospital. I could live with the fact that I would have to carry her for
the rest of her life. I have dogs that can't walk and my little 4 pound Isabelle would live out the rest of her life
as a princess. Her spine was fractured and the day after the accident she passed into the arms of God and surly
waits for me at the rainbow bridge. She waits with all the dogs that have passed away here at Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary.
Some we did not know for long but we loved just the same. A part of my life, a part of my heart waits at the bridge.
I love you Isabelle.

| Molly passed away August 8, 2006 |
|
|
| She died at home being held by those that loved her. She was 12 1/2 years old. |
Molly died as I held her in my arms. With tears flowing I told her to go ahead and pass. All the years
of receiving insulin injections and blood tests sometimes sticking her repeatedly were over and she could
now rest in peace.

Loyal friends that have touched our lives
Hera, on the right of the photo is no longer with us however, she is a survivor. Hera had breast cancer removed
and lived 2 more wonderful years. When her hind legs no longer supported her she was carried to the lake for a daily
swim. Her mind was sharp and never missed a trick. When she could no longer make it to the lake in the back of
the golf cart she would be content to swim in a pool that was placed in the drive way. Hera's soul mate Zeus ( bottom
left ) had his own physical problems and on the day Hera died at the age of 7, we let him say good bye and see her one last
time. Zeus sniffed around her body and then walked back to the house with his head held down, never to eat
or drink another thing from that day on. Zeus died at the age of 9 just 2 days after Hera. Now their bodies
rest together, side by side and their sprits wait at the rainbow bridge.

Pearl - Heart Worm Positive
Pearl passed away today June 5,2006 words can not express our loss. She was loved and will
be missed deeply. She died of renal failure.
Pearl is a Hound / Lab mix. She came into rescue 4/29/06 from a dog pound in southern Ohio. Pearl is a senior
that has had a hard way to go in life. She was adopted a few months ago and found to be heart worm positive. She
was returned to the pound. The pound workers fell in love with her from the moment they saw her. She spent almost
3 months at the pound and was saved from euthanasia several times because of her sweet disposition, calm and loving attitude.
The wonderful workers at the pound made one last attempt to get Pearl into rescue and contacted Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary.
Pearl came up on a rescue transport a few days ago. She is non aggressive, knows her name, calm, willing to please.
She gets along with all the dogs and we are going to give her the chance she needs. Pearl is going in for heart worm
treatment May 4, 2006. Please say a prayer for this very deserving soul as she goes through a tough procedure that will save
her life. When she comes home Pearl will be up for adoption and we hope someone will see the inner beauty we see in
this old girl. Please visit our website for updates and if you would like to make a donation towards Pearls medical
expenses to help with the cost please send them to AVON LAKE ANIMAL CLINIC 124 MILLER RD. AVON LAKE, OH 44012 C/O PEARL.
UPDATE MAY 5, 2006.
It is with much sadness I am forwarding this letter that was sent to the dog pound that saved Pearl from a gas chamber
death and made every attempt to get her into a rescue. That is how Pearl found her way to Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary.
LETTER SENT TO PREBLE COUNTY DOG POUND 5-4-06.
I just wanted you to know about Pearl. She is at the vet and had the heart worm treatment. She is not doing
well and is now in renal failure. Pearl will probably only live the weekend and then decisions will have to be made.
We are picking her up this morning and I want to tell you what her last days are going to be filled with. Pearl is going
to sleep in bed with us and she will live out her last days inside the house, were giving her the living room. Pearl
will not be put in a kennel again, ever. She is going to know more love in the next 3 days then she probably knew her
entire life. We are going to sit with her, talk to her and pet her. She will have the finest can dog food to eat
and fresh cool water at her side. She will want for nothing. We are going to try to make these last days the best days
of her life and she will know heaven started 3 days before she died. Thank you for saving Pearl - without you we would
not have had the pleasure of knowing this fine soul. When she goes to the Rainbow Bridge she will pass being held in
loving arms and tears will be shed, she will now know what its like to be loved and wanted.

Lucky Rescued from the Portage County Dog Pound. She was a senior that had breast
cancer. She was due to die the day she was rescued. Lucky lived for 2 years after her surgery. She never knew
a cold night or a hot day after she came into rescue. Lucky ate the best of food and slept on a pillow that she loved.
She was loved at last, our dearest friend.

Joe belonged to an old farmer and when Joe was attacked by another dog the man also owned he needed 2 surgeries
to repair the wounds and now must stay on medication to prevent seizures the rest of his life. We took him after the farmer
had left him behind his barn to die, with the understanding we would pay for his medical expenses if the man gave him to us.
The old man agreed and we have had Joe for the last 10 years.
Joe went to the bridge to wait for us March 2006. He died of cancer. His illness
was swift and unexpected. We took him to McDonalds and he had his favorites, double hamburgers and ice cream at Lake
View Park. The vet came out to our vehicle so he would not be frightened. He was held, cradeled in arms of love.
Face to face sharing the last breath of life, we took his pain and made it ours. We miss you Mr. Joe Joe Joseph.
