URGENT ! BEAN NEEDS A HOME FAST! BEAN
is a senior mare who’s owner is going to put her down (euth.) her by the first of the month Jan 1, 09.
She is sound and we have photos of her hooves to show what great shape she is in. Her owner cannot
afford the board because of a job loss. WE NEED TO FIND BEAN A GOOD SAFE HOME REAL FAST!
I am including the email I got from the person who is trying to save this horses life. She would make a good starter
horse for someone in 4H. Yes folks this is a baby sitter here... According to the barn owner,
she said the lady who originally owned Bean never really knew her correct age. She
was going to put Bean down years ago saying she was too old, and the barn owner said: What
are you talking about, she moves better than many of the horses here, has all her teeth, etc. The barn
owner says she believes Bean to be mid-upper 20's. She took a picture of her feet also to show what
great shape they're in She doesn't stock up, she's in great health, on NO medications and just a great
horse. She moves wonderfully. Apparently not only did the lady who currently owns her
lose her job but the woman who she got her from who still has a horse at the barn also lost HER job. Wow
what a mess!
Bean would also make a good barn companion to a horse you may already have.

3 BABIES DUMPED ON A RURAL ROAD

ALL BABIES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! These babies were found walking
down a county road and the local police department was called. They were brought to Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary.
I think they look like Australian Cattle dogs / Blue Heeler pups. The vet said he thinks they are around 10 weeks old.
They have been wormed ( all puppies have worms ) and vaccinated with DHPP & Bordetella vaccine. These pups have
been micro chipped. They are too young to be spay / neutered so they will come with a spay / neuter contract.
These babies are up for adoption and ready for
a new home. We have no idea how they ended up walking down a county road? Were they dumped in the country?
I just think of how sad it is that they could have been out in a cold wet ditch sleeping tonight if not rescued by the police
department. They are safe and warm tonight with a full puppy belly. If you are looking for a pup please consider adoption.

SUNSHINE & MARLIN

| Marlin has what every dog in the pound is waiting for... someone who loves him! |
Meet Sunshine and Marlin who came to us the weekend of August 18th. and 19th. from Terrebonne Parish Animal
Shelter New Orleans, Louisiana. Marlin is a special needs dog and has a front left leg amputation. They got here
after a 2 day trip that involved 18 legs ( a leg is one segment of the trip consisting of about 1 to 2 hr. long ) and
an over night in Chattanooga TN. They were both heart worm checked at our local vet. Sunshine was negative and
within a week she was adopted! Marlin was not so lucky. He was heart worm positive. Merlin has been treated
and is now up for adoption!! This little teddy bear is so cute it will not be long until he finds his forever home.
Marlin's dream would be to have a family with children that love to run and play with him.

Buddy is a 3 legged Choc. Lab mix who was out of time in a southern Ohio dog pound. This little
dog has been adopted and now lives with his new mom.
DUSTY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
Many of you may remember poor Dusty the blind Pom / Chihuahua mix that was attacked by the coon hound.
Well Dusty who was born with no eye on one side and blind in the other now has a new mom. We love Dusty and got to know
him very well in the year we had him in rescue. But this lady loves him too! THANK YOU!
